Truck Robbers Discover They’re Not in the Chips
The driver of a potato chip truck was beaten by two robbers who discovered the Vegas Chips he was hauling were potato chips, not gaming chips.
Police Lt. Carl Fruge said the driver was accosted at knifepoint and forced to drive to a remote area, where the robbers demanded he “turn over the chips.”
Fruge said the robbers became irate when they learned the truck was carrying potato chips.
Dick Falk, vice president and general manager of Vegas Chips, says the truck was clearly identified as carrying potato chips. He said the company logo displays a bag with both potato chips and gaming chips coming out of it.
Someone would have to be illiterate or have “really bad eyes” not to know Vegas Chips were snacks, Falk said Wednesday.
