First-round draft choice Terrell Buckley ended his 50-day holdout with the Green Bay Packers on Friday and said he will be “scrapping and scrounging” to play Sunday against Tampa Bay.

“It was all smiles on both sides,” said Buckley, the last of the 28 NFL first-round draft picks to sign. “I’m ready to play now.”

The Green Bay Press-Gazette reported that Buckley, a cornerback who was the fifth player picked in the NFL draft, would sign a four-year contract worth $7.1 million, including a $3.2-million signing bonus, which would make him the highest-paid player in the team’s history.

Atlanta Falcon linebacker Jessie Tuggle was being treated Friday for viral meningitis, while his doctor said there was no need to test fellow players for the contagious disease.

Tuggle, 27, who worked out with the team Thursday, was admitted to Piedmont Hospital about 7 a.m. Friday and was listed in fair condition, hospital spokeswoman Nina Montanaro said.

Tuggle complained of headaches two days ago and went to the emergency room of another Atlanta hospital with a severe headache early Friday before being admitted to Piedmont several hours later, Montanaro said.

The Cleveland Browns acquired wide receiver Shawn Collins, a former first-round draft choice, from the Atlanta Falcons for an undisclosed future draft pick.

Collins was the 27th player taken in 1989. In three years with Atlanta, he caught 95 passes for 1,402 yards and five touchdowns. He missed the second half of last year because of a hamstring injury.
