The Old Adage on Shopping Locally

I saw the closing of the plant coming 10 years ago, “L.A. Makes Its Last Car, End of Road for GM’s Van Nuys Plant (Aug. 28).

One needed only to drive by the employee parking lot and see all the Datsuns, Toyotas and Hondas, to say nothing of the Chrysler and Ford products to see that the closing was only a matter of time.

There is an old saying, be neighborly, shop locally. GM paid for the good life of the employees of that plant. They should have shown their appreciation by driving the cars they helped build.
