Tears for Beilenson

What a surprise when I opened my mailbox. In among the carpet cleaning and burger discount offers were two mailers from my multi-termed congressman, Anthony C. Beilenson.

My eyes started to puddle up right there and then.

Old Anthony told me how we have to invest more in education, job training and developing new technologies.

What a great idea. Makes me sorry I squandered all my money on taxes for so many years.

Just as important, he said, we have to reduce federal budget deficits. I really had to reach for my hankie at that point. If Beilenson would just package his bilge in one envelope, we’d at least have a start on cutting some government spending.

Sometimes a congressman can make a person weep faster than a bill from the DWP.
