A CAUSE FOR GUMBY

Michael West’s Gumby is certainly one of the more lovable and enlightened cartoon characters, but West is fairly well enlightened himself (“Close-Up,” by R. Daniel Foster, Palm Latitudes, Aug. 9). At a recent Independent Federation of Flight Attendants rally, West, in full Gumby costume, supported federation members questioning TWA management practices. We are grateful to those who, like West, are pro-labor, anti-sexist and dedicated to bringing out “that playful, moldable quality in everyone.”
