Associated Press
CHICAGO —
A 2-year-old boy was in critical condition Monday after a man scooped him off a sidewalk and used him as a bullet shield, authorities said.
Jonathan Williams was walking on a sidewalk on the city’s west side with his mother and three brothers Friday, police said.
A car pulled up and a passenger fired a handgun at Matthew Hall and two other men standing nearby. Hall picked up Jonathan and used him as a shield, police said. The boy was shot in the head. Hall was charged with aggravated battery to a child.
