The league and college scheduled candidates for local races in the evening so residents can attend this part of the forum, said Merri Ann Harbert, a student activities coordinator at the college.

An hour will be devoted to each race. During that hour, each candidate will speak for about five minutes and will then answer questions from the audience and the news media, Harbert said.

Candidates will appear as follows:

* 10 a.m.: Candidates for state Senate 19th District.

* 11 a.m.: state Assembly 37th District.

* Noon: 23rd Congressional District.

* 6:45 p.m.: Oxnard Elementary School District.

* 8 p.m.: Oxnard City Council.

* 9 p.m.: Oxnard mayor.
