The Palos Verdes Peninsula gets a jump-start on celebrating the new season this weekend with its fourth annual Fall Festival. The festival will feature food booths, live musical entertainment,

petting zoos and arts and crafts.

What: Fourth Annual Palos Verdes Peninsula Fall Festival, sponsored by the Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce.

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Where: In the streets between the Peninsula Center and the Shops at Palos Verdes, along Deep Valley Drive just north of Crossfield Drive, Rolling Hills Estates.

Background: The Fall Festival will feature many activities geared toward children. Youngsters can play in the expanded kiddie area, which offers rides, games, a petting zoo and pony rides. There will also be a children’s crafts area and a face-painting attraction.

For adults, the festival boasts an international food court, Arts and Crafts Village, a business expo, and a showcase of automobiles. Also, South Bay Hospital will sponsor health screenings on Saturday.

Continuous entertainment will be performed on two stages during the festival. Bobby Cochran, Charlie Jene, the Suits and Zydeco will be appearing throughout the weekend.

Visitors can also enjoy a number of performances by community groups including the South Bay Conservatory Flute Choir. There will also be a puppet show and dancers.

The festival is organized by the Business Development Community, a group of Palos Verdes Peninsula Chamber of Commerce members and Rolling Hills Estates.
