Hazardous-Waste Collection Site
Residents who have hazardous wastes stored around the house can take them to a collection center Saturday at the parking lot of Bayview Terrace Elementary School, 2445 Fogg St. The collection center was originally scheduled to be at the Mission Bay High School parking lot but had to be moved because of a scheduling conflict.
Bayview Elementary is between Grand and Garnet avenues, across from Mission Bay High. Household hazardous wastes will be collected from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. by the San Diego Waste Management Department.
Residents can take paint, used motor oil, pesticides and other toxic materials to be disposed of properly. It is illegal to dispose of these materials with household trash.
