Andrei Medvedev of Ukraine and Sergio Bruguera of Spain reached the final of the $330,000 Bordeaux Passing Shot tournament Saturday with straight-set semifinal victories over French players.
Medvedev, 18, ranked No. 33 in the world, ousted Rodolphe Gilbert, 6-4, 6-3, to reach his third final of the year. He also advanced to the finals and won at Genoa, Italy, and Stuttgart, Germany.
Bruguera, the only seeded player to make it to the semifinals, defeated Cedric Pioline, 6-2, 6-4. Pioline advanced with an upset of top-seeded Ivan Lendl in the quarterfinals.
