Staying Power: KNBC Channel 4, reversing its recent trend of cutting loose veteran news reporters, has re-signed longtime news fixtures Jess Marlow and Vicki Vargas to new contracts. Marlow, one of the deans of local broadcasting, reached a multi-year agreement to anchor KNBC’s 6 p.m. newscast and deliver commentaries on the station’s 5 p.m. newscast. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
