Film Animation Company Reports Quarterly Profit

American Film Technologies Inc., a North Hollywood-based animation, film coloring and special-effects concern, reported a fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $189,000, compared with a $1.98-million loss a year earlier.

The earnings in the quarter ended June 30 came on a 30% jump in the company’s revenue, to $4.05 million from $3.12 million a year earlier.

American Film Technologies attributed the improvement to gains by its computer-assisted animation and film coloring units.

For the full fiscal year, the company earned $902,000, compared with a $6.46-million loss the prior year, and its annual revenue climbed $43%, to $14.1 million from $9.84 million.
