Ford Recalls 337,200 Mustangs, Capris: Ford Motor Co. said it is recalling 337,200 1984 and 1985 Ford Mustangs and Mercury Capris to replace a defective part in the front seat-belt systems. Ford said a small plastic component that is part of the seat-belt tongue assembly could deteriorate after prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. The tongue could then separate from the belt webbing, rendering the seat belt useless. Ford knows of no injuries associated with the problem. Ford will make all repairs free of charge at authorized dealers.
