Washington State wide receiver Phillip Bobo has been suspended from Saturday’s game against Fresno State because of a shoplifting charge, Cougar Coach Mike Price said.
Bobo was arrested Wednesday night at a Pullman supermarket and faces a third-degree theft charge.
Price said sophomore Albert Kennedy will replace Bobo in Washington State’s starting lineup.
Bobo, a junior from Moreno Valley, is tied for the Pac-10 lead in receptions with 14. He has gained 132 receiving yards and has one touchdown.
Alabama receiver David Palmer, who was suspended indefinitely after his second drunk driving arrest, will be allowed to play Saturday against Louisiana Tech.
Palmer, who accounted for 1,113 total yards as a freshman in 1991, has missed the No. 7 Crimson Tide’s first three games because of disciplinary suspensions related to his arrests. He continued to practice with the team, dress for games and live in the athletic dormitory.
