The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce has endorsed two candidates for the state Legislature and one for the U.S. House of Representatives, citing their positions on business issues.

The chamber is backing Assemblywoman Cathie Wright (R-Simi Valley) in her bid for the 19th District state Senate seat. She is being opposed by Democrat Hank Starr, an attorney who lives in Bell Canyon. The district stretches from Oxnard to the San Fernando Valley, picking up most of the populous areas of the county.

In the 38th Assembly District, the chamber is supporting Assemblywoman Paula Boland (R-Granada Hills). Boland will face Democrat Howard Cohen, a North Hills activist, on Nov. 3. The district includes Simi Valley, Fillmore and parts of the San Fernando Valley.
