Monrovia : Recreational Trail Gains
The City Council agreed to spend $5,000 on surface mapping for the possible construction of a recreational bicycle and jogging trail along the Sawpit Wash Basin to the entrance of Canyon Park.
A recreational trail in that area was closed off in 1989, Public Works Director Robert K. Sandwick said. Funds to reopen and improve the trail would come from the Bikeway Development Fund, he said.
The trail would run alongside the wash from Lemon Avenue to Canyon Park, a mostly undeveloped area popular with walkers and joggers.
