A 15-year-old Canyon Country boy has pleaded not guilty to charges that he fatally shot a woman in Agua Dulce and seriously wounded her mother, the district attorney’s office said Wednesday.

The youth entered his plea Monday in Antelope Municipal Court, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Steve Ogden.

He was charged with murder during the course of a robbery and with assault with intent to kill and auto theft, Ogden said. He faces a maximum penalty of imprisonment until age 25, authorities said.

The youth and Jason Michael Richardson, 20, were arrested in Salt Lake City on Sept. 8 in connection with the fatal shooting of Mary Louise Glover, 34, and the wounding of her mother, Mary Lou Glover, 63. The elder Glover was released Sept. 15 from Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital.

She had been looking after Richardson while housesitting for his parents at their Hierba Road residence, authorities said. Following the shooting, Richardson, the youth and his girlfriend drove Mary Louise Glover’s car to Salt Lake City, where they were found by local police.

A preliminary hearing for Richardson, who has been charged with murder, attempted murder and being an accessory to murder, has been scheduled for Oct. 19 in Antelope Municipal Court, a spokesman for the district attorney’s office said.
