VAN NUYS : Lawsuit Charges Robbins, Associate With Racketeering

Share

A class-action suit alleges that legislation by former Sen. Alan Robbins intended to deregulate a specialized segment of the insurance industry has cost Californians millions of dollars.

According to Pat Coughlin, a San Diego lawyer whose firm filed the suit Thursday, the civil racketeering action contends that Robbins and Ron Gordon, president of now-bankrupt Sentinel Insurance Co., initiated a scheme in 1978 to allow credit insurance rate increases.
