Critique Play, Not Theater

Share

Regarding Robert Koehler’s so-called review (“ ‘Charlie’ Holes Up in Tiny Space,” Sept. 16) at the Ensemble Theater in Orange: I was under the impression that a dramatic review was supposed to constructively critique the play and the acting. This was more a diatribe on why the reviewer didn’t like the theater. This is no reason to pan the play. I have seen this production and would like to congratulate the company for an enjoyable production.

If Mr. Koehler has been to other storefront theaters, he would know that they are not perfect aesthetically, but they do offer fine acting and should be commended for that and not the placement of the seats.

My applause to the cast and production staff of “My Sweet Charlie.”
