BUENA PARK : Three Suspects Held After Bank Robbery

Share

Two gun-wielding men shouted for 30 bank customers and employees to lie down Friday, as one stood guard with a shotgun and the other leaped over the counter and grabbed cash, police said.

Three suspects were arrested soon after two gunmen fled First Interstate Bank on Commonwealth Avenue. Police said the two robbers escaped with the help of a waiting driver about 2:50 p.m.

A police officer in the area saw the waiting car leaving the bank and issued a description of the suspects and their white Cadillac over the police radio, Lt. Rich Ciampa said.

Moments later, a second patrol officer saw the Cadillac enter the northbound lanes of the Santa Ana Freeway at Artesia Boulevard, Ciampa said.

Traffic was heavy and the Cadillac had no escape route, Ciampa said. Police pulled it over at Carmenita Road and arrested three people.

Held in the Buena Park Jail on suspicion of bank robbery were Andre Jackson, 24, Yvonne Morgan, 29, both of Los Angeles, and Corey Treadwell, 21, of Inglewood.
