Ramerizi, purchased by two Canadian high school principals for $500 earlier this year, will face Peace Corps in the second of tonight’s two Breeders Crown Mare Trot eliminations at Mohawk Raceway in Campbellville, Ontario.
Ramerizi has won $135,757 since being bought, winning seven of 22 starts. Her owners, Bill Burleigh and Mike Schertzer of Ontario, paid $34,000 to supplement the 5-year-old into the Breeders Crown.
The Swedish-owned Peace Corps is the richest harness horse of all time, earning more than $4 million. She is a three-time Breeders Crown champion.
