Seat Belts in Buses

Share

I read your editorial (Sept. 22) regarding the tragedy of the church van that was broadsided. You went on to say that if seat belts had been provided, perhaps the passengers would not have been thrown out, causing so many needless deaths and massive injuries. I thoroughly agree.

However, I have a question. Is it not equally abhorrent, in the name of integration, to have our children’s safety jeopardized by riding school buses from one end of the city to the other without seat belts?
