$330-Million Suit Against General Dynamics Is Dismissed: A U.S. district court judge in Manhattan has dismissed a $330-million lawsuit that the government filed against General Dynamics in 1985. The government had charged that General Dynamics gave false cost estimates for ship construction when it applied for federal shipbuilding subsidies in the 1970s. The government “failed to carry its burden of proof” in the case, the judge said. “We’re very pleased by the ruling,” said Alvin Spivak, a company spokesman at General Dynamics headquarters in Falls Church, Va.
