Brea City Elections

Nine candidates are competing for two at-large seats on the Brea City Council in the Nov. 3 election. Candidates for treasurer and city clerk are running unopposed. The deadline to register is Monday. To register, pick up a form at any post office, library or city hall. For more information, call the county registrar of voters at (714) 567-7600.
Patrick Davis
Age: 40.
Occupation: Businessman.
Background: Member of the Steering Committee of the Brea Project; served four years on Planning Commission, current chairman.
Issues: Favors use of eminent domain as a tool for redevelopment; favors development of the spheres of influence area after thorough study of appropriate land use; favors completion of the downtown redevelopment area; opposes use of city reserves to avoid increasing service fees.

Harold L. Ivy
Age: 62.
Occupation: Retired businessman.
Background: Served with various city committees that include: Downtown Charette, Jubilee Special Events, Spheres of Influence and Cultural Arts Commission; former lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps; graduated from Army General School and Brooke Army Medical Center.

Background: Air Force sergeant for four years; member of a group advocating motorcycle education.
