COUNTYWIDE : Ex-Waiter Linked to ‘Baby Face’ Holdups

Share

An unemployed waiter arrested over the weekend is the prime suspect in a series of bank robberies committed by a man detectives labeled the “Baby Face” robber, the FBI said Monday.

Patrick Oslo III, 28, who used to live in Chula Vista, was arrested Saturday in Carlsbad and charged with the June 18 robbery of about $1,500 from the Rancho Vista National Bank in Vista, the FBI said. If convicted, he could draw up to 20 years in prison.

Oslo also is believed to be the stickup man in six other robberies that began last October, netted a total of some $10,000 and involved banks in Carlsbad, Escondido, Solana Beach and San Diego, the FBI said.

Charges have not yet been filed in connection with the six other robberies, the FBI said.

Authorities were seeking a youthful-looking man with soft skin and a clear complexion, FBI spokesman Ron Orrantia said.
