Share

A Studio City man accused of shooting television actor Jameson Parker in a dispute over the performer’s three dogs pleaded not guilty Monday to attempted murder.

At his arraignment in the Van Nuys Courthouse, Robert St. George, 52, also pleaded not guilty to one count of assault with a firearm, Deputy Dist. Atty. Herbert Lapin said.

The 44-year-old actor--best known as the clean-cut younger brother in the TV detective drama “Simon & Simon”--was wounded in the stomach and arm. He was able to walk home and was hospitalized overnight.

Police said St. George shot Parker after the actor came to his Shadyglade Avenue home to discuss a dispute earlier Thursday afternoon, in which St. George reportedly yelled obscenities at Parker’s wife, saying the couple’s dogs had urinated on his front lawn.

Van Nuys Municipal Judge Michael Knight scheduled a hearing Wednesday to consider St. George’s request that his bail, set at $250,000, be lowered. He also scheduled a preliminary hearing in the case for Oct. 15.
