LOS ANGELES AIRPORT : Airport Panel to Look Within Ranks for Chief
The Los Angeles Board of Airport Commissioners on Monday said it will attempt to replace its retiring executive director from within the ranks of Department of Airports staff members.
Chairman Robert Chick said the commission had received three applications from within the department to replace outgoing Executive Director Clifton A. Moore, who announced that he is retiring after more than two decades in the job. Moore has said he will stay on until a successor is chosen.
The City Council last week urged the department to conduct a nationwide search to replace Moore. The department oversees Los Angeles International, Ontario, Van Nuys and Palmdale airports.
