BANK ON IT: Bank of America’s takeover of Security Pacific will hit south Orange County in earnest soon (D1). The bank announced Tuesday it will close 14 of its 36 branches from Costa Mesa to San Clemente: five Bank of America and nine Security Pacific branches will consolidate with other neighborhood branches by January. . . . Experts predict that Bank of America will close one-third of its 74 county branches eventually.
