Share

In an effort to improve his team’s poor home record in recent years, Coach Larry Smith said Tuesday USC will practice at the Coliseum the day before home games for the first time in his five-plus seasons.

Said Smith: “We’ve got to get our people acclimated (to where they say), ‘Hey, this is our stadium, and it’s time we perform our best right here.”

USC, 1-7-1 at the Coliseum since Oct. 6, 1990, will play Oregon on Saturday in its home opener.

Opponents have converted seven of USC’s 10 turnovers into scores, accounting for 41 of the 58 points given up by the Trojans this season. Oklahoma and Washington scored all of their points against the Trojans after turnovers.
