County to Cut Hours at Libraries in San Gabriel Valley

Faced with a $10.2-million reduction in its budget, the Los Angeles County Public Library will reduce community library service hours in all of its libraries effective Oct. 19.

Libraries in the San Gabriel Valley and their new hours:

Baldwin Park: 4181 Baldwin Park Blvd.; closed Sunday and Monday, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m Tuesday and Wednesday, noon to 8 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Charter Oak: 20562 Arrow Highway, Covina; closed Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday; open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday.

* Claremont: 208 N. Harvard Ave.; closed Sunday, open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

* Diamond Bar: 1061 S. Grand Ave.; closed Sunday and Monday; open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
