Five candidates are vying for two seats on the Cypress City Council on Nov. 3.

CECILIA AGE

Age: 41.

Occupation: Incumbent; vice president for residential lending for Bank of America.

Background: Elected to council in 1988; mayor, 1989-90; member of John Wayne Airport Commission; former member of Traffic and Transportation Committee; former board member of Cypress Chamber of Commerce.

Issues: Opposes allowing a card club in the city; opposes utilities tax; supports addition of retail businesses; voted against light rail system.

STEVEN BRADLEY

Age: 37.

Occupation: Certified public accountant.

Background: Board member and auditor of Cypress Little League; American Youth Soccer referee; active in local PTA.

Issues: Supports light rail system that is quieter than one proposed; opposes allowing a card club in the city; supports controlled growth; supports keeping Cypress a family-oriented community.

GAIL KERRY

Age: 45.

Occupation: Incumbent, small business owner.

Issues: Supports sharing services with surrounding cities; supports putting card club proposal before a vote of the people; supports keeping current city service levels; opposes light rail system.

Issues: Supports adding more cultural arts programs; supports adding community theater if city funds are not used; supports making Katella Avenue a “super-street”; undecided about allowing a card club in the city; undecided about light rail system.
