Irvine Beats Fullerton in Five-Game Match

Popi Edwards had a career-high 27 kills and helped UC Irvine to a five-game victory over Cal State Fullerton in a Big West Conference women’s volleyball match Wednesday at Titan Gym.

Edwards also had 17 digs, and setter Vesna Sepic had 64 assists in the Anteaters’ 13-15, 15-3, 15-13, 13-15, 18-16 victory. Scotleen Risley added 10 kills and 22 digs, and Kris Puttler had 15 kills for Irvine. It was the first five-game victory in five chances for the Anteaters (8-8, 3-6 in conference play).

Lisa Parbst had 24 kills and Kristin Sharples had 17 for Fullerton (0-10, 0-5).
