3 Gunmen Rob Woman of Jewelry
Orange County sheriff’s deputies are looking for three young men suspected of stealing about $100,000 worth of jewelry from a woman at gunpoint Friday morning.
According to the woman, the men knocked on her door in the 2400 block of McCloud Court about 8:30 a.m. Friday and said they were going to trim the trees around her home. They then pushed their way into the residence, bound the woman’s hands and mouth with duct tape and put a towel over her head.
With one of them toting a chrome handgun, the three men headed for the garage, where they took the jewelry out of the trunk of a car, according to Sheriff’s Lt. Dick Olson.
“It appeared that they knew what they were doing and what they were after,” Olson said. The men fled on foot. The victim was not injured.
Police offered no explanation as to why the woman had so much jewelry in her car.
