SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

He wears No. 50 for Katella.

Brandon Brennan, Western’s quarterback, and the rest of the Pioneers won’t soon forget him.

His name is Jim Gladwin.

The Katella nose guard sacked Brennan once, and wreaked havoc in the Western backfield as Katella (3-2) entertained a homecoming crowd of 1,300 by defeating previously unbeaten Western, 14-6, Friday night at Glover Stadium.

Katella’s defense, led by Gladwin, dominated Western’s offense. Western tried to double-team Gladwin, but the Knights’ defense held the Pioneers to minus-two yards rushing and 27 yards total offense in the first half.
