Volvo to Cut Back: Sweden’s Volvo said it will cut production of its 1993 cars and is considering closing final assembly plants at Kalmar and Uddevalla because of overcapacity. The overcapacity comes despite the fact that Volvo has “increased its market share in the 17 most important markets,” the company said. The Kalmar and Uddevalla plants together employ 1,630.
