Terminal Data Scanner Declared IBM-Compatible

Share

Terminal Data Corp. of Moorpark said its new DocuScan 2610W scanner has been chosen as a compatible unit in International Business Machines’ Image and Records Management System.

The scanner, which was introduced in June, can “capture” up to 50 double-sided pages of data per minute, Terminal Data said. The data can then be stored and used in such procedures as check printing and letter writing.

“We consider this a major marketing breakthrough,” said Terminal Data spokeswoman Marian Klein. She expects the scanner and the IBM system to be used in insurance, finance and other fields using large amounts of data. IBM will not market the DocuScan units, but will recommend them to customers needing high-speed scanners, Klein said.
