San Diego : Champion’s Car Found in Compton
Gaslamp Quarter shooting victim Michael Champion’s car was found in Compton on Wednesday morning, the same area where police officers apprehended escaped convict Johnaton George.
Champion was shot and killed Oct 5. by a man, allegedly George, who escaped from a jail van and took his Honda to get away, officials said.
San Diego homicide detectives went to Los Angeles to photograph and process the car for information.
The car is not drivable and will remain in a Los Angeles area tow yard, a San Diego police spokesman said.
