GM Expects $845-Million Loss: General Motors Corp. said it expects to lose up to $845 million in the third quarter, but it pointed out that would be a 20% improvement from a year ago. According to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, GM said its prediction is within the range of industry analysts. Analysts have been predicting GM would lose between $550 million and $1 billion in the quarter. A year ago, the world’s biggest auto maker lost $1.056 billion.
