Umbel, Council Candidate, Dies
Memorial services are pending for William Umbel, a candidate for the City Council who died this week.
Umbel, 57, died Monday of a still undetermined cause, said his wife, Frida. She said her husband had been ill for six days.
Paramedics tried to revive Umbel, but he died before reaching Los Alamitos Medical Center, his wife said.
Bruce Lyle, a supervising deputy coroner, said an autopsy was conducted Tuesday, but the cause of death is yet to be determined pending toxicology results.
Services will be held at the American Legion Hall, Post 716, in Los Alamitos later this month, Frida Umbel said.
