Another Chance for Dance: The financially endangered San Diego Foundation for Performing Arts gave itself a 12-day reprieve Friday, according to Executive Director Fred Colby. He had announced two weeks ago that the foundation, which presents major dance tours in downtown San Diego, would close for good if he could not raise $200,000 by Friday. But, despite the fact that only $53,000 had been raised by the deadline, Colby said that the board extended the life of the foundation at least until their next meeting Oct. 28. He also said only $75,000 would now be needed to keep the company alive.
