SEPULVEDA BASIN : Helpers Needed for Native Tree Project

Share

A conservation group is seeking volunteers Saturday for a project to restore native trees in the Sepulveda Basin wildlife area.

Volunteers under the direction of the group TreePeople will be taking cuttings from mature cottonwoods and willows and propagating them in one-gallon containers. The new trees eventually will be planted in the wildlife area.

Theresa Bower, a volunteer citizen forester with TreePeople, said volunteers are expected from Scout troops and schools. She said others interested in attending should call (818) 347-0679 or (818) 753-4600.
