Lake Forest : Drunk-Driving Foes to Stage Crashes

Share

In an effort to curb alcohol-related automobile accidents, the Friends Against Drunk Driving will stage mock crashes today at El Toro High School in Lake Forest and Monday at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo.

Blaring music and tarp-draped wrecked autos will greet students during the 10:30 a.m. presentations, which will involve officials from the County Fire Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the California Highway Patrol, Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center and local towing and ambulance companies. Each agency will play its role in responding to accidents and demonstrate the violent consequences of drinking and driving.

More than 3,000 teen-agers nationwide die each year as a result of drinking and driving, according to the County Fire Department.
