Election Polls

Share

A few years ago there was controversy concerning the negative effects of exit polling on Election Day. Detractors claimed it was unfair to those who had yet to vote to hear from pollsters that the election had already been decided. Why bother to vote if your candidate had lost?

I fail to see the difference between exit polling and the recent barrage of front-page polling results predicting President Bush and other Republican candidates losing the election. It seems California is lost to conservative candidates this season.

We voters are being manipulated. I can’t shake the suspicion that if the polls were showing conservative candidates winning, we’d find the results on Page 22, which is where they belong in any case.
