Fishing in Canada
I enjoyed the Aug. 23 story on Lake O’Hara (“Canada’s Beauty Secret”) because my husband and I, often with friends and family, have been going there each summer for eight years. I know another beautiful resort in British Columbia (about 200 miles north of Vancouver), where accommodations are readily available. Tsuniah Lake Lodge is on the eastern side of the Pacific Coast Range. It is owned and managed by the Brebner family--Bobbie, Eric and Brian. The lodge has a commanding view of Tsuniah Lake. Accommodations are available in the lodge or in a dozen or so individual cabins, each sleeping up to four people. Food is served family-style and is delicious. Fishing is a major reason to visit Tsuniah. A picnic on an island in the lake is a special treat, dining on trout that you have just caught and watching the bald eagles fishing. The Brebners also have horses and mountain bikes available for their guests. The phone number for making reservations in the winter is (604) 392-5612.
