LONG BEACH : Woman Killed, 2nd Hurt by Hit-and-Run Driver
A Long Beach woman was struck and killed Monday and her friend was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident that occurred as they were crossing the street.
Martha Molina, 41, was dead on arrival at St. Mary Medical Center after the 5:50 a.m. accident on Anaheim Street at Daisy Avenue, said Long Beach Police Lt. Kenny Shack.
Felicitas Alejos, 27, also of Long Beach, was in critical condition at the same hospital, Shack said.
“The women were walking north across Anaheim Street in a crosswalk when an eastbound van went through a red light and hit them,” Shack said. The van was described only as a Ford, either white or green.
Anyone knowing more about the case is urged to call detectives at (310) 590-7355.
