Presidential Campaign
The ongoing election campaign shows that ours is certainly a loony way of electing a President.
If Bill Clinton was twice as smart and experienced as he is, but a poor speaker and debater, he wouldn’t have a chance of a snowball in hell to be elected President.
Liberals complained that Ronald Reagan was elected President only because of his communication skills and now their man may be elected President mainly or perhaps only because of his oratorical skills. Yet recent history teaches us that people in many nations were fooled by skilled orators with disastrous consequences.
