Claremont : Skating Banned at Malls
Skateboard and Roller Blade fans have been denied access to their favorite venues: the city’s shopping centers.
The City Council voted unanimously to amend the Municipal Code that bans skate activity on posted public and private property, where hazards are posed to pedestrians, to include local shopping centers.
Enforcement by police will be limited to areas posted with city signs. Merchants and other interested parties may get the signs by applying at City Hall.
