PLATFORM : Condom Vandals

The damage to the condom store hit me rather hard. As someone who has seen firsthand the devastation of AIDS, I know that there is only one solution to this horrendous problem--education and prevention. We have no cure; therefore our only line of defense is to prevent spread of the virus. This can be done through abstinence from sexual activity or by the use of condoms.

Two entrepreneurial young men saw a way to make a living and save lives at the same time--to make condoms accessible to everyone, particularly teens. The vast majority of juniors and seniors in high school are sexually active, and those of us who are parents realize that kids act on impulse. A drive-through condom shop is a perfect way to improve accessibility.

We must encourage, in any way we can, education and the implementation of condom-distribution programs that prevent the further spread of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.
