Reynaldo F. Macias has been appointed director of the University of California Linguistic Minority Research Institute, based at UC Santa Barbara. Macias, who holds a doctorate from Georgetown, had been at USC as an associate professor and director of the Center for Multilingual, Multicultural Research.
