* * Pam Tillis, “Homeward Looking Angel,” Arista. Tillis sings with such character that you half expect her voice to land a movie deal. Unfortunately, the songs on her second album don’t offer much to wrap those honey-sweet-and-thick vocal cords around. There’s some cute punning in “Cleopatra, Queen of Denial” and something approaching real emotion in “Rough and Tumble Heart,” but next time she ought to hold out for a better script.
